What started out as wanting one to use in my kitchen has turned into a passion.
I bought a phone on Ebay and it didn't work when it arrived, and it smelled like cigarettes and mold. I did no thave a clue or where to start to make it come alive. After much time and money to make it work, I was hooked and started on a new hobby.
Unfortunately, I had spent more money than it was worth, but after all, it was working!
I purchased a few more, one at a time, over the next several months, being much more savvy I thought. Then the idea came to refinish them. Being lucky enough to have acquired many of them at one time and learning more along the way about how they actually worked, was an eye opener to say the least, but I loved it.
Having learned plenty, and I still am........ from the old timers who used to work for the telephone companies, other collectors, to some very smart folks who saw the value in preserving this part of history, I started this payphone refurbishing/repair business.
Every phone is carefully refurbished to new, but still has the look and feel of being old and priceless. At no time are replica parts used or any modifications made to the original design, ever!
They really are antiques and vintage Americana, meant to be used and working everyday in your home or business.
